Minecraft Pocket Edition APK

Minecraft is a simple mining and building game that has taken over an entire world of the audience. Minecraft PE (Pocket Edition) simple, a Java-based game that puts creativity in your hands and which allows you to customize the worlds as you see fit has taken the world by storm. But while a lot of people are ok with the idea of playing this on a computer, there are people that just don’t have enough to play on that type of systems. So, Minecraft Pocket Edition is an edition designed specifically for mobile platforms.

Minecraft Download – Pocket Edition

Minecraft Pocket Edition works on just about all mobile platforms, starting with Android and iOS, then ending with things like Windows 10, among others. But is the Minecraft Pocket Edition a great version of the desktop Minecraft, or just a shallow version with missing features? Let’s see!

Minecraft PE Gameplay

Right off the bat, you will see that most of the stuff from the original game is here, and in a very good format. But there are also some limitations. For example, you will have fewer types of blocks. While this does seem like an odd limitation, it makes world generation simpler and devices with limited capabilities may not be able to get the results they want from this.

The controls are, obviously, touch based, and this does bring a great sense of immersion. You do feel each jump and attack a lot more when compared with the regular version of the game. In fact, the combat seems to be more interesting at times thanks to the touch controls. There are also split controls that deliver the center screen reticle and a mouse-like functionality. The default system is better, but if you liked the PC controls, this is as close as you will get.

That doesn’t mean they are perfect. These controls do have some times when you just want to revamp them because they won’t be as responsive as you may want. It’s not the best type of approach that you may want, but in the end, it is a rather unique and distinct experience nevertheless.

Of course, you get the Creative and Survival mode that you can find in the original game as well. You have a massive world and the same monsters as in the original game. So, you won’t have a shortage of skeletons or creepers to kill.

Minecraft PE Features

What I found interesting about Minecraft Pocket Edition is that it doesn’t matter how many apps you have running in the background. Even with 10 other apps in the background and the graphics set on fancy, you do have some of the best visual experiences out there, which is downright extraordinary. You are bound to like the fact that stuttering is kept to a minimum. Of course, if you want to achieve this, you will need a beefier device spec-wise. But still, it’s a nice achievement to have.

Creative Mode

The Creative mode has a different interface since it enables you to get access to a palette with a wide range of blocks. The problem is that you can’t create massive stuff like you would in the PC version because you do experience stuttering. Then again, you have to think about the limitations of the device you are playing on, which can be pretty major depending on the situation. But overall, the experience is a very good and distinct one, and the results as a whole are extremely interesting.

Multiplayer Mode

The multiplayer component is very interesting and it works great most of the time. However, it works like that if you share the same connectivity. When you play with people outside of your home, the power of your internet connection will literally make or break the experience. Even the multiplayer isn’t perfect since you do lack ban commands. However, if you play with friends and not strangers, you shouldn’t need this sort of command anyway. You won’t be able to get cross-play. I believe that Microsoft is actively working on this, aside from the texture revamp they want to do soon, but we will have to wait and see. For the time being, you won’t have the ability to use Minecraft Pocket Edition multiplayer with Windows or Xbox players!

Automation

One of the features that some people will love and others will hate is surely automation. Simply put, the character will automatically jump when you have a block in front. It will also swim when you enter in any pond or lake. This is a great thing for those persons that want to take a breather while playing. But obviously, there will be purists that see this as an immersion breaking experience. It’s not a bad thing, but it can have some negative impact depending on the situation.

Crafting was also changed. Instead of placing items in the form of what item you want to craft like you would on PC, Minecraft Pocket Edition has a simpler approach that requires you to pick the stuff you want to craft. Again, the process is easier, but it removes some of the pleasant stuff that you liked quite a lot from the PC version. That doesn’t really mean it’s a bad thing.

Also, there are some things that are missing. The red stones are missing and they are a key component that offered a lot of fun from the original version. You will also note that some other elements like books and orbs are missing too. Minecraft Pocket Edition may be adding them at one point, but it’s sad to see such a version without enough meat on the bone.

Even more so, the generated worlds are not as rich as the PC worlds are. Again, you are playing on a smaller device, you do get touchscreen support, so there will be some things you have to lose in order to get these advantages.

Conclusion

Overall, I feel that Minecraft Pocket Edition has a good crafting and mining experience. It works great and it looks very well. It also managed to get lots of updates, even if we would be ok with even more new stuff for sure. However, there are some downsides like automation and the lack of some PC features. But still, Minecraft Pocket Edition is a lot of fun and it works great with a multitude of options. If you are a fan of Minecraft, then the Minecraft Pocket Edition will be right up your alley. Just check it out and you will not regret it for sure
